Neelanjan Akuli

PhD Candidate in Mechanical Engineering, admitted Autumn 2021

I'm pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University working on Ice Dynamics. My research focuses on multi-scale modeling of subglacial hydrological processes and it's coupling with other physical processes governing shear margin dynamics of Ice Streams. The ultimate goal of my work is to understand the impact of climate change on glacier landsystems, thereby evaluating actionable measures for natural hazard mitigation and sea-level adaptation. I aspire to work with communities severely affected by the impacts of climate change and make science & research more accessible in solving their pressing challenges.
